BLURB!

just a quick note, you might want to say what psw and psa means.
it means Percussion Schoolastic World and Percussion Schoolastic A line.
(and there's a third Percussion line, its Percussion Schoolastic Open line.)
and actually you don't even really need to say PSA or PSW.
just say World line or Open line. its easier.

A, Open, and World are divisions. (they're in order from least to highest)
World is the highest division possible. and schoolastic just means that its a high school that's competing.

SCPA stands for Southern California Percussion Alliance

And if you want to check up on some stuff, go visit the scpa website at sc-pa.org
you can fact check scores and stuff over there. and also, if you need any contacts, ask me. Im a go to gal for guard and percussion.

and if anything confuses you, you can ask me too.

OH! and the competition season is also called Winterguard.
...it just is.. don't ask. i dont know either.

and dont talk about World line too much, just a quick mention? Bc i dont think theres a need for two articles about World Line
its just some percussion/guard jargon sorry.

**okay. so the divisions are called "schoolastic a/open/world" but the percussion themselves that compete within these divisions are just called A line/Open line/World line.

SCPA Championships Preliminaries

For JV Percussion and Varsity Percussion, April was a month filled with much excitement. Traveling around the Nation, our Percussion participated in a medley of competitions, starting from the humble Southern California Percussion Alliance (SCPA) Championships Preliminaries to the grandeur Winter Guard International (WGI) word championships.
On Apr. 2, Apr. 3, and Apr. 9 our A, World, and Open Line competed in the 2011 SCPA Championships Preliminaries at Great Oak HS in Temecula, California and later in the Championships at the Coussoulis Arena in San Bernardino. Our Percussion teams ended SCPA Preliminaries with great success, with A and World line placing first in their division with the scores of 88.90 and 94.50 respectively. Although Open Line did not win at the SCPA event, in the heart of AHS they will always be winners, because they do not only show strength and discipline, but also great ambition. On Apr. 9, A-Line placed fourth with 88.84 points, and World again was victorious, placing first with 95.24 points. Teams at the competition were scored based on their overall general effect, performance quality, and visual appeal.
Taking this great achievement with them, on Apr. 13 to Apr. 17, AHS Percussion traveled to Dayton, Ohio to participate in the Winter Guard International World Championships.
