"The earthquake in Haiti. It was devastating; hundreds of people died, but it also brought together a community. the whole world came together to help patch up the woulds that the earthquake opened"
- Gabriella Munos-Case, 11 (D-9, Little Theatre)

Probably when my friend passed away from Ewing's sarcoma (a type of cancer) in March, after battling it for two years, and she was only 14. It was a really life changing event for me. (Lauren Kime, 10) 2nd- P5 3rd - Dance Studio

My most memorable moment of 2010 was meeting the three people who later on became my best friends. It seems cheesy, I know, but they mean the world to me. I can always count on them for everything and I love them to pieces! (Katie Mazer, 9) 2nd - little theater 3rd - J27

For me, the most memorable moment of 2010 was the awards ceremony in April at World Guard Championships in Dayton, Ohio, where AHS earned 6th place amongst several other Colorguards across the nation. Being a performer, it was a gratifying experience listening to the cheering crowds, knowing that they appreciated our performance and the countless hours of diligence and hard work we had invested into our show over the past few months. (Vaishnavi Balendiran, 11) 2nd - D14, 3rd - S-106

One of my most memorable moments would be dancing for Senior Men and Women in the Homecoming assembly. Ever since I first saw SMW as a freshman, I made it a goal to find myself on that organization in senior year, and when it all worked out... it was like a childhood dream come true! (Jaspreet Singh, 12) 2nd - F9 3rd - D5

The most memorable event was going to Taiwan at the end of summer ti get in touch with my asian side. It was memorable because it's just so... Asian there, it's unbelievable. (Kevin Luu, 11) 2nd- S101, 3rd- C2

My most memorable moment from 2010 would have to be our Colorguard championships last April. It was probably our best run as a whole, and it felt great knowing we all did our absolute best. As a result, we took second place and were praised by so many other schools for our great performance. (Christina Manvelyan, 11)

For me, the most memorable part of 2010 was when my dog died. After that happened, I just try to live in the present and not dwell on the past. It also taught me to enjoy what I have, because it might be gone the next day. (Annabell Liao, 10) 2nd - D3, 3rd- MB1(band)

Visiting my relatives in China, because I pretty much only have family there besides my parents, so it was really cool to see my cousins and get to know them. And we saw lots of cool places, like this Water Cave in Ben Xi (that's a small city, not where I live, but I went there), and I went to the Shanghai World Expo. (Samantha Wang, 10)

The most memorable moment for me was when Band and Colorguard were announced to be in the 2012 Rose Parade when we were at the LA county fair. Being in the Rose Parade is like a once in a lifetime thing, and it's really cool that I get to be in it. (Samantha Tang, 11) 2nd - L2 3rd -C9

The most memorable part of the year was the Laker's victory. This happens annually, but it was special this year because they were able to beat their arch rivals. It gives a morale boost to all the fans of the Laker Nation because the LAkers proved they're best in the world. (David Wu, 9)

The most memorable part was going to Disneyland with Orchestra. It was really fun going with my friends...we got to go to Disneyland for free, and we ended up not playing because it rained. I also went on my first big rollercoaster and had fun! (Annlita Ou, 10)

Getting into Destination Imagination, because I got to have fun with my friends while trying out. The team seems like a lot of fun and a good experience. (Nathaniel Wu, 10) 2nd - D3

PostSubject: more quotes!   Tue Jan 18, 2011 10:52 am

"The most memorable time of 2010 would definitely be with the incident in my car with ASB. One day, on my way to pick up the bottles, cans, and paper recycles that ASB had collected throughout the past weeks at AHS for recycling, I turned off my engine, ready to get out of my car to help load, but then I found that my key was stuck in my car. I tried to pull it out, but it wouldn't budge. I twisted it, cranked it, turn the engine on and off again, and it still wouldn't move. I thought it was jammed, and already I was starting to plan how I should explain this damage to my parents (because it would cost some $300 to fix this). I thought about all the bad things because of this one dilemma - this jammed, broken key in my car. For 10 minutes, I panicked and was distressed as other ASB members tried to help me until Irene Liu, ASB Secretary, saw me helpless in my car and noticed that I didn't put my car in "parking" mode. I was flabbergasted; I put my car in park mode, and the key came out.
That was probably the most embarrassing, yet memorable, time of 2010 :]" (Daniel Liem, 12) 2nd - D2, 3rd- D11.

"The world expo! It really opened my eyes to the cultural significance of so many countries that I've only read about in books or saw on TV before. The way they present their country makes you want to travel there." (Jessica Ho, 10) 2nd-S104 3rd - D10

"I think the most memorable part of 2010 was the release of Inception, because the idea was so raw and new that it attracted many viewers (and me!) to this mind-boggling depth of a dream." (Charlene Nguyen, 12) 2nd - H12, 3rd- G7

"A memorable moment for me in 2010 was when I made Varsity Percussion. This was very important for me, because I have always wanted to be in Var. Percussion since freshman year. It was also memorable because it made me one of the seven juniors in Varsity Percussion, compared to 23 or so seniors." ( Dylan Nguyen, 11) 2nd - G10, 3rd- P4

"The first day of high school, because I got to meet new people and make new friends. It was a really fun and exciting day to me." (Sofi Espina, 9) <-- I kind of forgot exactly what this one said because I got it from facebook. && I didn't plan on including it because it's kind of uninteresting, but yeah. Im still going to try and get more at lunch.
